La sekva trejnado okazos: 28.10 - 3.11.06 - Seminario en Bruselo
The World Organization of Young Esperantists (TEJO), in cooperation with its Flemish branch, invites you to exchange your experiences on language diversity in youth work and to discuss different ideas of language rights with colleagues from European Esperantist and non-Esperantist youth organization. This seminar on language rights and language policy also includes training on active citizenship - on how we as young active citizens can participate in the European public debate.
The European integration brought several new opportunities to its citizens: international traveling, studying abroad, and Europe wide social and political participation... European youths, especially in the new member states, were among the first to embrace these new opportunities. But the more Europe integrates and the more this integration affects the daily lives of its citizens, the more the language issues is raised. The topic of language rights is of major importance for young esperantists from all over Europe. They are both locally and on a Europe-wide level active in activities raising a European awareness and awareness about language rights. But language diversity is equally crucial for any other European youth worker who is confronted with the question of how to balance ideals of language rights with day to day realism.
The World Organisation of Young Esperantists (TEJO), in cooperation with its Flemish section, invites you to exchange your experiences with language diversity in youth work and to discuss visions on language rights with colleagues of European Esperantist and non-Esperantist youth organisation.
This seminar on language rights and language policy also includes training on active citizenship, on how we as young active citizens can participate in the European public debate. Giving you concrete tools for enabling active citizenship will be part of the program. To make this possible the organisers hope to invite some representatives from different European Institutions and other European policy makers to discuss their views with us.
