General advice on using Yahoo! Groups

If you want to join an e-mail discussion list managed by Yahoo! Groups, you can do so either through its web interface (which only appears to be simpler) or by sending an e-mail to x-subscribe@yahoogroups.com (replace the letter x with the real name of the group, for example pri-ijk). An e-mail in English will arrive, asking you to confirm your joining of the list: you can do so by replying to the message (it doesn't matter what you write, replying is enough). Subsequently a welcome message should come, which signals a successful completion of the procedure. In some groups the administrators have to approve your joining of the group: in that case the procedure is a little more complicated, you must follow the web link that sends you to Yahoo! Groups and write a message for the administrator. If you have problems, try writing to x-owner@yahoogroups.com (replace the letter x with the real name of the group, for example pri-ijk), but there is no guarantee that that will help.

You can unsubscribe by sending a message to x-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com, which must be confirmed in a similar way to joining a group (however this never requires anyone's approval).

Currently, tendencies are appearing in TEJO to move away from the services of Yahoo! Groups. We will inform you here about discussion lists created at a different server that are connected with the work of TEJO.
