Pasporta Servo (meaning Passport Service) is a list of adresses of people from the whole world who welcome guests into their homes free of charge. To obtain this, the guest need only have the current copy of the address book (and speak Esperanto). The 2006 address book listed 1320 hosts in 92 countries.
The hosts indicate their conditions, for example non-smoking, or the number of guests or of nights that can be spent, and can mention various comments about their interests, preferences, accessibility and so on. Hosts enjoy welcoming people from different countries, guests enjoy the free stay, and they get in touch easily through Pasporta Servo. Hosts often help guests with transport, getting to know the location etc.
