Committee

The Commitee after its meeting during IJK in liberec'.

The commitee is the upper decision organ of TEJO. It meets usually during tue International Youth Congress (IJK), and also sometimes at the end of the year. between meetings the comittee debates via a mail list. The commitee can also vote by post or via internet. (See details below.)

Tasks of the Commitee

The Committee is the senior body of the organization. It:

  1. defines the general action of the organization
  2. selects board members and has the right to remove them
  3. makes decisions concerning the action of the board
  4. approves the budget and examines the finances of the organization
  5. makes decisions concerning acceptance and removal of National and Special Interest Branches
  6. makes decisions concerning acceptance and removal of honorary presidents and honorary members
  7. makes decisions concerning removal of patrons
  8. makes decisions concerning regulations
  9. makes decisions concerning other affairs not reserved for other organs or bodies

The Committee can also make decisions concerning all affairs over which the Board or individual members of the Board have power; in that case, a decision from the Committee nullifies an opposing decision from the Board or from an individual member of the Board.

The Committee consists of Committee members A, Committee members B, Committee members C and the TEJO Board members. The Board members are chosen every odd year. The rest of the Committee is chosen every even year. Its new period of office is from June 2006 to May 2008. Committee members A are nominated by National and Special Interest Branches of TEJO until 30 April of every even year. Committee members B represent the individual members of our organization. And finally, Committee members C are chosen by the previously elected Committee members A and B.
