Volunteers

TEJO aspires for volunteers at the TEJO Central Office in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, who are able to give up some of their precious time for the benefit of TEJO.

A volunteer at TEJO does not only contribute significantly to the betterment of TEJO, but also has the opportunity for enriching experiences, be it individual, in Esperantujo or as a volunteer. The leadership of TEJO limits the duration for voluntary work to about a year, in order to provide opportunity to more individuals interested in this program. The volunteer also acts as the face of TEJO during official events, such as the congresses (IJK and UK) as well as informing the members of other events and activities. The volunteer is also expected to work closely with the officer and thereby increasing the visibility of TEJO during the congresses while also alleviating the workload of the leadership.

The current TEJO-volunteer is Paweł Fischer-Kotowski from France. You may contact him through: oficejo@tejo.org (OpenPGP: 0xFBFBA807)

The Officer

Since 2011, TEJO has a full-time employee, i.e. the officer, alongside the volunteer. The officer is tasked with long-term projects such as the requests for subsidies and the organisation of seminars. Moreover, the officer assists the leadership as well as the volunteer and especially the new volunteers. The officer is not responsible for day-to-day tasks such as the answering email queries or the updating of the TEJO webpage but instead for the continual functioning of the association. They usually work from home.

The first officer is Manuela Ronco of Italy, who was herself previously a TEJO volunteer.
